'If You Go Down To Church Street Today' | durhamStudent™
If you go down to Church Street today,
You're sure of a big surprise,
If you go down to Claypath today,
You'd better not be a mise(r)*
For every student that ever there was
Will gather here for certain, because
Today's the day the estate agents have
Their house-showings...
Beneath the viaduct where nobody sees
They'll haggle and negotiate as long as they please,
Because that's the way students pay more...
If you go down to Gilesgate today,
You'd better not go alone,
It's 'lovely' down in Hawthorn Terrace today,
But safer to stay in college...
Househunting time for students,
Arts and science, both are having a lovely time today
Watch them, catch them unawares,
And see them fight over a 3-bed semi...
See them gaily gad about,
They love to play and shout,
Because they've been naughty little estate agents...
Footnotes
(Other than most, if not all, of the above).
- Noticeably, 'estate agents' and 'teddy bears' do not rhyme...
- * Have you seen the cost of rent recently?

Worst. Poem. Ever. It doesn't even rhyme in most places anymore... If you can do better, contact durhamStudent.
Worst peom ever seems like an understatement! If it was not already in the going down box I would have emailed you to suggest it was!
