Klute Nightclub, Durham

Klute Nightclub, in the centre of Durham is infamous among students for the cheesy music, intimate atmosphere (it’s a little sweaty sometimes) and incredibly bad chat-up lines. Needless to say, it is a Durham University instituion, which is incredibly popular with students despite clubs such as Loveshack opening.

Both Jimmy Allen’s and Chase are nearby, as is The Swan & Three, Varsity, The Shakespeare and La Tasca.

Klute is incredibly popular as an ending place to bar crawls (especially bailey college bar crawls) and as a venue for university society socials.

College Nights

One thing to bear in mind when planning to visit Klute is that certain nights are ‘college nights’. Although students from other colleges can get into Klute, entry in to Klute between certain times will provide free or discounted entry – ask your college’s events secretary for more details.
