The Duke Of Wellington public house, in Durham, is located reasonably close to the university’s ‘science site’, a brief 15 – 20 minute walk (albeit up a hill!). Walking a little further, down Crossgate Moor, will bring you to the Stonebridge Inn, which has larger portions and a less of a chain-pub feeling.
The pub serves reasonable food until 9pm everyday, and whilst drink prices are not comparable to those of college bars, there are what you would expect to pay in a ‘normal’ pub, although this may come as a shock to those who frequent the Swan & Three Cygnets.
