Previously called Emilio's, Melanzana restaurant in Durham is opposite the Swan and Three and near Patrick's and Shakeaholic.

Melanzana in Durham is popular with students, serving Italian food such as pizza and pasta, and seems more popular than Filini's or Fat Buddha.

Whilst the food is generally of good quality, there is an 'optional' 10% service charge added to every bill by default, and, whilst you can ask for it to be deducted, it is all too easy to tip twice without realising it.

I went to this restuarant a few weeks back and its is amazing. The staff are very polite, the food is great and the restuarant itself has a facinating interior. I would recomend this restuarant. Go soon because you will enjoy it.
