The Botanical gardens were first founded in 1925 as an experimental garden within the grounds of the science laboratories of Durham university. Moved to it’s own stop in 1969 so the could develop undisturbed and develop an identity of their own. The gardens are the perfect way to send a sunny day, taking in some nature.
The gardens run a host of events and activities through out the year.
